Moments like this make me so happy, even though they are watching the 51st episode of Avatar.
I am taking D and J to Utah to attend my sisters wedding this weekend. Chad is going to hold down the fort here and take over my responsibilities, what a sweetheart! I am having a hard time leaving Lucy but her Dr. assures me that things will be fine while I am gone and that I need to go. I guess Chad will get to see all of the cute thing Lucy does during the day.
Last but not least, THANK YOU Montana Grandma, the adorable and perfectly designed bags and their accessories have already been used several hours and I am sure they will use them on our long drive. Your note was so sweet and when the package came, they actually said, "Oh, it's just more stuff (supplies) for Lucy". They were pleasantly surprised that it was something for them. Thank you.
P.S. That cut on Dallin's neck looks bad but he is fine.
I just wanted to tell you two how much I have missed you while you have been away.
I don't know if I should tell you this or not but I think Mom and Dad have been really enjoying a little bit of a break. Not that I am easy for them, but you know:) They even have had to set their alarms because Dallin isn't waking them up at 5:30-6:00 a.m.
On Tuesday, Mom and I went on a really long walk and I listened to Mom's iPod and danced to some of my favorite songs. We stopped at Walgreens for diapers and mom bought me a Sleeping Beauty doll that I can sleep with. Don't worry, I am not spoiled.
Wednesday I met with Dr. Yuan and she was really nice but she said she doesn't want to see me for a long time. I think she meant she just doesn't want me to get sick! She gave me a Dora sticker because she was out of the princess ones, but the huge ring she gave me made up for it.
Mom decided to meet Dad at work for lunch. Mom let me sit on her lap while we were waiting so that I could "drive" the car. I kept saying "We're almost there, Mom". Mom thought it was so funny.
I really wanted to drive home and I threw a little fit when Dad put me back into my car seat. Our carpets were cleaned today and Mom and Dad were able to push me around in my stander while our nasty rug was drying. I loved it.
Today, mom took me swimming with some friends. She put sunscreen on my back and I screamed louder than mom has ever heard, it felt really funny on my back. Mom started tickling my back and it was driving me crazy, I told her to "stop, stop, Mom, I'm serious". I don't think she took me seriously. I also got to hold my first ice cream cone. Mom wasn't very good at sharing but I did get a little taste.
Mom also set up my new fountain (I am not spoiled) and this is what I have to say about that.
I can't wait until you come back and Mom will be glad when I stop telling her that you guys "left me" and everyone knows you guys make me happier than anyone else.
In November, I am running a marathon in Santa Barbara, CA. I'm not going to just run a marathon, though. I am running for my Lucy, Nora, Jonas, Gwendolyn, Riley, Maggie, Karson, Brynlee, Lucy Z and all SMA angels and warriors. I can't think of a more worthy cause to run for.
I am actually really excited for this race because Gwendolyn's dad, Bill, is going to run too and he is organizing a group of GSF runners (they have 20+ runners) and I am trying to build onto that team. I already have a few committed but I am pushing for more.
So if you are interested in running a full marathon, half-marathon or relay for SMA please sign up here and then e-mail me at cherisse {dot} lunt {at} gmail {dot} com so I can give you further instructions- or you can just click on "Gwendolyn's Dad" above and there are instructions there. I hope to see you there!
We started out at Half Moon Bay at the "Ritz Carlton" Beach. It was absolutely beautiful and there was a guy dressed in a kilt playing the bagpipes.
Dallin and Jocey can't go to the beach without getting wet.
Jocey plans ahead and plans for herself. She brought a swimsuit.
Blurry, but Lucy got to fish with Thomas and Angela.
Thomas and Angela are getting hitched soon, they are two of Lucy's most favorite people.
We found the perfect spot to watch the fireworks; it wasn't crowded and it took 5 minutes to get home.
It was a perfect weekend.
Best comments for the weekend:
When we went to breakfast, it was really bright and Lucy kept saying, "Turn the lights off!!!" It is a little difficult to tell a 2.5 year old that you can't turn the sun off:)
Jocey to Dallin: Tomorrow is free day, we get to do whatever we want! (talking about the 4th of July, incase you are wondering)
Lucy watching fireworks: "Beautiful, it's beautiful" (repeated over and over with each explosion).
