Just a picture

that really makes me happy.

We are doing really well here. There have been a lot of big changes going on at the Lunt house and we can't help but notice all of the many ways that we have been blessed. We are also enjoying the beautiful weather that Northern California is sharing with us, it is just delightful (just a little rainy today but the sun is so cheerful and soon it will be allowing us to spend our evenings at the park). We hope that you are all doing well too.

Dallin's Baptism

Dallin, come here, I want to take some pictures of you.
Gross, stop, make a normal face.
Dallin, I am going to show all of these to your future girlfriends.
*and you know that 'sweet' hand holding turned into a wrestling match
So, Dallin was baptized and confirmed on 2/18/2012 by Chad. It was such a special day. Chad's parents flew in from Illinois and his brother, Kevin, came from Provo. My sister, Melanie, was there too (didn't get a picture of her for some reason) and there were many, many friends, who we call family there to help us celebrate this very special day.
After, we met at the park for treats. Thank you friends and family for coming to support Dallin, we love you all!

Dallin turns 8

I can't believe he is 8... 8 years old. With big-gish teeth and only a couple of more years until he is taller than me.
Now that he is 8, he got a fancy set of scriptures and look how happy he is! Maybe because he got a truckload of fun presents from friends.

Dallin has a big heart and now that he is older, he understand some things that his parents are going through. Because of his loving heart he reminds me that he loves me, appreciates the things I do for him and he tries to make my life a little easier by being responsible and taking care of himself and helping around the house. We are so, so lucky to have him in our family, luckier than we even knew when he was born.

Dallin had a birthday party

His first 'real' birthday party. Chad was the hero and took complete charge of the party, invitations and everything and when Lucy and I arrived he was skating around holding pitchers of water-super hot. If his job doesn't work out, there's always Sonic, I guess:).
I brought Lucy in the middle of the party and Chad took her for a spin. She loved, loved, loved it but the employees told Chad he couldn't take her anymore. She was super grumpy when we broke her the news and so she and I didn't stay long.

Cousins were so nice to come.
Trying to make Lucy happy, she doesn't like her stroller anymore, she wants control of where she goes.
Maybe I am just immature but I think it is funny that the kids were on their bums most of the time and they fell so. hard.
And I even took a picture of Jocey crying. I know, I should've gone out and helped her.
Jocey was super excited to be the only girl and she woke up extra early to make her hair beautiful and pick out an outfit that would match her skates (she was mad that I couldn't tell her what color her skates were going to be)

It was about time Dallin felt extra loved and extra special on his birthday, his sister's birthday always gets a lot of attention but that doesn't mean we love him any less. And I can't believe he is 8 years old!!

Another Birthday

Every morning when Lucy woke up (for about 2 weeks) she would say with bright eyes, "It's almost your birthday! Can I make you a cake?" When my birthday finally arrived, she was really excited about it and she kept singing Happy Birthday to me.

I had another birthday and I am starting to not feel so young. It was a wonderful birthday and many wonderful friends made me feel so special. We started with a party in the park. Lucy was "running" around with all of the kids and she was determined to get inside the soccer net with the kids to fight the dragons. When she figured out a way, she said, "Mom, I'm just like them!"

Melanie and Lucy made my birthday cake,
while Chad and I went out to dinner in downtown Palo Alto.

We ended the night with cake and birthday wishes.

It was a great birthday!

A School Nurse and the Bus

Lucy's school nurse started last Monday and I love her (more importantly, Lucy loves her too)! She is so sweet and very sharp (she even knows all of the characters on Strawberry Shortcake). If I knew who hired her, I'd give them a big hug. I sat with her for a few days and then I sat in a conference room that has a observation window so that I was available. The nurse came and got me a few times, mostly because Lucy kept asking for me and she felt bad. I have never just left Lucy with someone who doesn't know her extremely well and I thought I'd have a really hard time but with this nurse, I can totally see myself breaking away. For now, I just sneak into the conference room and take care of stuff (except I haven't figured out how to hook up to their wifi, so I just played a million games of sneezies on my phone). I don't know when I will feel comfortable leaving but the school has been so kind and they said I can just take my time.

Today was another huge day. Lucy started riding the bus to school! I know! She kept saying, "I'm gonna miss you mom." She is so adorable. She was so darn proud of herself and she felt so big! I followed the bus to school - sort of- they warned me that a mom who followed the bus a few years ago was surrounded by cops (thought it was a terrorist related). I made sure to not get too close and I took a couple of back roads so I wasn't directly behind them.

It was such a great day and Lucy felt so independent and so special. This little girl just loves living life and I am so lucky I get to watch her.

Chinese New Year Take 2

Last year, we watched Dallin's class perform so it was a little bit of a repeat but Jocey and Dallin had different roles so it was still fun to watch.
I told Lucy that the girl with a very large Asian head and colorful leggings was Jocey but she was so scared when Jocey came up to shake her hand.
She tilted her mask so Lucy could see her but Lucy still wanted her to leave.

Jocey danced holding a moon, just like Dallin did last year. It makes me laugh just thinking about Dallin dancing with a moon.
