Overheard

I was standing at the stove, cooking dinner when Jocey came in the kitchen. She saw the egg-carton-like-costco-apple-container in the garbage and started pulling it out. I stopped her...

Me: Jocey, don't take that out of the garbage.

Jocey: I want to play with it.

Me: We don't have enough room in our place to keep trash, please leave it in the garbage. (she had already salvaged several pieces of trash and incorporated them into her playtime).

Here is where I wish I would've remembered everything but Jocey lectured me for 3 minutes-straight. Some of the things she said (with hands high up on her hips and her "R" pronounced, "ow").

-Mom, you are a weally bad waster!

- What do you love more, our house or the earth.....I love the earth.

- When you throw things away, you are wasting them!

- If we throw everything away, we are wasting and we are going to run out of things.

She then ended her reprimand...

-So, what do you choose, mom? Our house or the earth? I chose the earth.

*Obviously, Jocey has been learning about a lot of things outside of our home. She is very passionate about this.

I five.

We have tried for weeks and we still can't get her to say that she is two.

Support and Stretching

Lucy has to wear a lot more than just clothes. Sometimes it isn't that comfortable for her but she is such a trooper.

Baseball

Dallin has started baseball again.

He does really well when he bats...
but he is still trying to figure out what to do when he is playing on the field.

When the coach tells him to "stand right there" he stands right there the entire time.

I think it is funny.

Jocey doesn't pay any attention to the game (except for the time she was taking a picture of Dallin when he was on first base and kept yelling at him for not looking at her and smiling-then he got out on second base...he didn't get there in time), instead she creates the ocean food chain or finds friends to play with.

Lucy really likes to be outside but Aunt Melanie bought Tangled so now she keeps asking to "go home...watch Tangled".

I am mad I didn't get more pictures but G and G Smith were here for a whole week and we loved it.

Overheard

D: Grandma, what are you going to do while we are gone [at school]?

G: I don't know.

D: (very sincerely) Well, you can go on a run and there's my light saber.

Jocey has had more pet bugs than I know, or like to know about. She was really attached to the first one she caught. It only lasted a couple of hours (she is intense). She had a really sad face and was trying not to cry.

Me: Jocey are you okay?

J: That was the cutest bug I ever saw.

The missionaries came over for dinner and then gave us a message. I really tried to not laugh but there were a few moments that I had to bury my face so they wouldn't notice my reaction.

M: Why are children so special? How can you help us?

D: Well, when my dad says bad words we can tell him not to say them.

Chad: Whatever, you don't even know any cuss words.

D: Yes, like the "F" word and the "S" word.

Bahahahaha! I am not sure what Dallin thinks the "F" word is but the "S" word is stupid at our house. The look on the missionaries face was hilarious and the panic in Chad's face was even better. Jocey also said some hilarious things but I won't share them here.

8 Years

We are on a streak for having the most romantic anniversaries ever.

Dallin's response to "what are your parents going to do for their anniversary" was "they are going to be nice to each other and smooch in bed".

That doesn't sound too bad.

Happy Anniversary Chad!

Sunday Evening

We went to the beach tonight. If you saw Dallin and Jocey before we go to the beach and then after, you would be really confused. From the minute we decide we are going to the beach until we park the car, they repeat profusely, "We hate the beach, we don't want to go!" The minute their feet touch the sand, they are smiling from ear to ear and they have the time of their lives-and they get soaking wet: pictured below.

Just so you know...that water is Freezing and they are nuts!

Lucy had fun too.

Holding a jelly fish.
